G.Rongi- The Testament

Born Githinji Gicharu, G-rongi is an established Hip Hop Artist hailing from the Eastlands of Nairobi, Dandora Ghetto, his music passion started at a very tender age, during his teenage years he doubled School work and sport. He played for Mathare Youth Sport Association (MYSA).when he was the league under 14 years team, he emerged the overall best team player and was awarded several medals.

Hip Hop music was gaining popularity, and the torch bearers were none other than Dandora rap pioneers, the trio Kalamashaka. By 1998 G-rongi was playing with the words and rymes; he would write down rhymes on paper and later share his lyrical prowess with fellow emcees from the Mau Mau camp.

Modenine-(Oluwasegun Babatunde)

Mode 9 grew up in London, England. He came back to Nigeria , where he studied Building Technology. While in school (Bida Polytechnic) he met Ayo Animashaun, a publisher who eventually introduced him to SOLO DEE, a quantity surveyor (and one who would eventually make Nigerian hip-hop mainstream popular) who mentored him and introduced him to real hip-hop. During this period, Mode Nine met, through SOLO DEE, other rappers who have elevated the art form, such as Loknan ‘Eldee’ Dombin, Mista baron, Six Foot plus, De Weez and El-Cream and together they formed the super group AFTERMATH.
The name of the group later changed to SWAT ROOT following the adoption of the name by Dr Dre for his record label. Mc Kah-SUBIRA ALBUM

Kah’s passion started at a very tender age when he was a pupil at Dandora primary school.He teamed up with Brian Kodhek to form Warogi Wawili, they did their first single in 1999 - Mpaka Saa Ngapi with then veteran producer Ted Josiah.

The single became an instant hit in the local waves, and they went on to perform at various venues around the country.The song was part of a compilation album Kenya Second Chapter, where some of the artists were names like Gidigidi, Majimaji,Nazizi, Intu among others.
